Qasr al-Yahud baptismal site

This site on the banks of the Jordan River east of Jericho is where ancient Christians marked Jesus' baptism.
Now on the peaceful international border between Israel and Jordan, the ancient site is once again open for pilgrims' baptisms.
In January, on Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Epiphany, thousands of pilgrims flock to the site.
