Ein Kobi

Hiking

The Route:
In the Begin Park near the settlements of Tzur Hadassah and Mevo Beitar, which is a park full of abandoned orchards, ancient terraces, hidden paths and charming corners, an ancient spring from ancient times is hidden from the eye.
The spring flows into an underground chamber with arches, which serves as an ancient collecting system, which was intended to store drinking water and lead the rest of the water to agricultural crops, through a tunnel to an external water reservoir and from there to the trench channels.
The spring is accessible by stairs, and through the ceiling is an opening that leads back to daylight, and after 17 meters you will reach the underground pool that leads to the outdoor swimming pool that once served as a ritual bath.

What more?
Entrance to the site is free of charge and without limitation of hours.
The place is suitable for picnics - KKL-JNF prepared the place for travelers and provided them with tables and benches, a parking lot for vehicles, rehabilitated the agricultural terraces, planted orchard trees and woodland trees in addition to the ones that grew there naturally.

How to get there?
Using WAZE, write Mevo Beitar. At the entrance to the Moshav continue driving on road 375 (Ha'Ela Junction - Beitar Ilit). After about 500 meters to the Begin Park, turn left and drive north in the park on a paved road that descends to Ein Kobi. Park in the lot next to the site.
