Teenim

Dairy, Vegan, Vegetarian

Te'enim (which means figs' in Hebrew) opened in 1993, and is one of Jerusalem's longest-established vegetarian restaurants.

Located in the Confederation House in the Yemin Moshe neighbourhood, Te'enim is a beautifully thought-out and designed restaurant projecting simplicity and warmth. As well as the plant-filled paved patio, there is an inner courtyard with ceramic tables and stone benches with cushions, plus a private room that can accommodate groups. From the restaurant's windows, diners enjoy a marvellous vista over the Old City's walls David's Tower, and the Church of the Dormition.

Now and then, the sound of the church bells ringing can be heard. The restaurant is happy to cater events in the summer up to 150 people, and during the winter up to 100.Patrick Melki, the owner of Te'enim, was born in Algeria and raised in the South of France.
