Levi Eshkol House

National Sites, Archaeology and History

In 1977, the house was handed over to the Levi Eshkol Authority and to the memory of Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, but no resources were given to rehabilitate the abandoned building.

Design and construction work that began toward the end of the century were forced to stop in 2003 due to funding problems. In 2014, Yad Levi's continued to renovate the site, which was completed in late 2016.

During this period, in 1989 the building was defined as having architectural and historical value.

Today the house is a permanent residence for Levi Eshkol's activities.

The ground floor of the building was opened as a visitors center with a periodic display of the reconstruction of the prime minister's rooms and an interactive tour of the history and activities of Levi Eshkol. The display cabinets of the Levi Eshkol Library were incorporated in the display cabinets.

The upper floor of the building is used to host educational and public activities, lectures and study evenings.
