Sde-Bar farm

Workshops and experiences

On the southern slopes of Israel's Mount Herodion, the palace of King Herod, against a breathtaking view overlooking the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea, and the Moab Mountains is the location of the Sde Bar Farm.

The Sde Bar Farm was established in 1998 as an educational farm dealing with several areas of agriculture. One of the educational projects at the beginning of the farm was the establishment of a sheep and goat pen for pasture and milk, alongside a boutique creamery. The creamery specializes in the production of goat cheese from the goat's milk that gives the products that special taste of the desert. The milk, the dedicated hands-on treatment, and the unique production conditions produce high-quality boutique cheeses.

The farm includes industrial and organic agriculture, such as greenhouses for growing vegetables, pomegranate orchards, figs and olives, and an ecological factory with an international patent for the production of incinerator cylinders for heating from the waste of olive presses.

The farm houses families that deal with unique art and education, such as ceramics, wood art, and more.

Next to the creamery and against the backdrop of the Kedumim landscape is the famr restaurant, which offers a cheese and wine menu from the creamery, and locally produced ingredients. The tranquility which surrounds the farm, combined with the breathtaking desert landscape, makes for an unforgettable experience.

Join the Sde Bar family and enjoy a culinary experience of unique and delicious goat cheeses.

The Farm is Kosher LeMehadrin under the supervision of Rabbi Eliyahu Abba-Shaul, Rabbinate of Gush Etzion.
